Discussion: Planning a Purposeful Conversation

Think about a topic you would feel comfortable addressing with someone as a Digital Ambassador. It could be a technical tip for using some kind of software or tips for getting the most out of a phone or mobile device. Map out a purposeful conversation by writing down things you might say or do. Write out the steps you might take and what you would say. A bulleted list is fine.

Share your conversation map with others and review the maps that others have contributed.

Some things that you may include in your conversation map are:

1. A greeting;
2. Questions to get to know something about your partner and the goal(s) they have for the conversation;
3. A few pieces of information or skills that you can demonstrate;
4. A task that you can do with your partner to practice;
5. Questions that you think you might be asked; and
6. Action steps you both might follow after the conversation.
