One way to break the ice and build new relationships is to play games. You can find or create games that help people share their backgrounds. They can be related to a specific technology so you can determine how comfortable they are with it. A few different games are listed below.
Display the icons for common apps on a phone, tablet, or laptop. Ask your adults to guess what the app does or it's name. This can show you how familiar they are with different technology.

Print out or display different emojis that are suitable to share. Ask your adults what they think each one represents. Share how it might be interpreted to discuss differences in perception.

Collect and share two pictures of a similar type of technology, one older and one from the current day. For example, you can show an old rotary phone and a smartphone. Discuss the personal experiences your older adult has with each.
