Objective 2: Protecting Yourself from Scams and Phishing

The Internet is growing so rapidly that it's hard for anyone to keep up. It can be difficult to discern if something you see online is true. The same goes for information you receive in an email, text, on social media, and from some phone calls. Scams and phishing attacks are increasing. These threats are especially dangerous for older adults who may not be as familiar with technology as you are. You can empower seniors to recognize potential scams and protect themselves by teaching them about identifying suspicious emails, deceptive links, fraudulent websites, and con jobs over the phone. This will help older adults have a greater sense of security and can also strengthen the connections between generations.
