Activity: Practice Interactions

The best way to develop skills like paraphrasing and summarizing is to practice them with someone else. You can practice through role-play or conduct actual conversations with others. Consider using the fishbowl activity and taking turns with some people observing while others practice conversations. Or you can record yourself on audio or video and review your conversation. Determine how well you incorporated paraphrasing, summarizing, and opportunities for questions.
