The Digital Ambassadors CourseModule 1: Being A Strong Communicator
What you'll know and do to demonstrate being a strong communicator
As a Digital Ambassador, your conversations are not social. They may include some social aspects, but typically you will be having a conversation to help someone learn something new. They may be learning a technical skill that is new to them. They may also be learning a better way to use technology tools, like social media or their phone. Your conversations should be purposeful. You can use several strategies to make them more effective.
Following this module, you should be able to incorporate strategies that help you:
- Organize and structure a conversation so it has a purpose. It includes an appropriate greeting, interactions and demonstrations, opportunities for questions, and a closing with clear next steps;
- Incorporate active listening skills, including supportive body language and facial expressions;
- Paraphrase, summarize, ask good questions, and allow others to ask questions during a conversation using appropriate voice components; and
- Write an organized email with short, clear sentences and correct grammar.
