The Digital Ambassadors CourseModule 2: Working with Adults

Demonstrating skills to work with older adults: Final Product

At the end of this module, you will create a Personal Code of Conduct you plan to follow when working with others. It can be shared with other Digital Ambassadors as well as the adults you work with. Other Digital Ambassadors will want to know you will behave professionally by being reliable, patient, and managing your time well. The older adults you work with will also appreciate it.

This Code of Conduct can actually be shared with those adults early in your relationship. The Digital Ambassadors and your teacher/coordinator should decide whether to do this or not. A different approach is for your team to create agreements or norms for how you will work professionally with older adults. Those documents can also include agreements or expectations for how the people you work with behave when working with you.

Note: Each Digital Ambassador should create their own Personal Code of Conduct to demonstrate their understanding of the topics and strategies in this module and to earn the Working with Adults badge. Each Digital Ambassador’s Code of Conduct can be used to generate team-based documents, agreements, or norms that can be shared with your adult learners. Having one team agreement may be the simplest for those you work with. Each team should decide what works best in their situation.
